Journal 3: Reflection of working in a team
In this journal, I will talk about my experiences in first week as a team.
As for my first experience with my team members, working in a team is a productive way for designing a project. The most obvious benefit of team-based cooperation is that team members can share ideas and inspire each other. When we consider about some problems individually, it might difficult to think that from different angle. Also, it is not easy to solve all the problems alone. However, working with partners who has different academic background may provide some better solutions. The reason is that every people has their advantages. They are likely good at the subject your are not good at. Then, they can help you and give some useful suggestions. Another benefit is that team work can improve the efficiency. Not only because team members can allocate the job in different parts, but also members can choose the part of project they like to do and able to do. Therefore, they do not have to take the responsibility for whole project, but they needs to cover their own work carefully. It reduces workload. In the first week as a team, my team focus on idea generation. Basically, we try to think about more concepts about how to create a interface. In this situation more people can think more ideas when we are brainstorming, thereby improving the productivity. Similarly, if some design problems come up to the surface, we discuss about these and find the most suitable way to fix these. During the discussion, we are highly likely get something new.

However, working as a team sometime has some drawbacks because it might causes some disagreements among team members. It wastes times to discuss about the topic to make everyone agree others' opinion in some situation. In addition, members has different levels in design thinking or programing. Therefore, we has different understanding about our concepts. Thus, it takes more time to associate the works.
There are some communication systems we used for connecting each other. Firstly, face-to-face discussion and meeting is a good way to communicate. At meeting, we can share idea and talk about what next problems should be overcome. It is the most direct way, but sometimes we do have the same schedule and then we do not have time for meeting. In this case, we also keep connection by Facebook/massage. If any one have questions or something not clear, they could text it and let others notice that. Secondly, we create a document on google Drive in order to sharing the works in the team. we can check all work we did for the project. It saves time to upload the recourse over time, which is really convenient. Thirdly, collaboration system we are using is that we allocate the work to each member. For example, someone are doing programing and someone are doing design interface and someone writing reports. Overall, we use multiple methods to improve the efficiency.
