Journal 12: Reflection on style design and planning improvements

This week, I will adjust the color of buttons. I use the same color and hover color of each button by CSS. In addition, I change the font of words  in order to keep its visual consistency.

I also improve the layout because we want to make the web pages look better.

    I want to add a function call Today in History. It will compare the news happened in today  with historical events recorded in SLQ dataset.  However, there is technical challenge for me. I only know the year in which the event occurred, but there is no exact date I are able to use in SLQ database. So it is difficult to compare the today’s new with historical events.

For further improvement, I also try to add a new game-based interaction. The concept is that images in SLQ dataset will be shown randomly to the audience. It offers multiple choice questions according the image, such as guess which event it is in the picture. There is an example below. They need to choose an answer from four options. It also can interactively test whether users acquire  a amount of knowledge of history from our website.
